By connecting to NetIRC network, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

Age Requirement: You must be at least 16 years old to use our services. Users under 16 are not permitted to access our network.

2. Service Description

NetIRC provides a comprehensive IRC (Internet Relay Chat) network with the following services:

IRC Network Infrastructure:

  • Multiple Servers: Chat, Alfa, Strasbourg, and Oslo servers for redundancy
  • IPv4/IPv6 Support: Dual-stack connectivity on all servers
  • SSL/TLS Encryption: Secure connections on port 6697
  • Port Range: Standard IRC ports 6667-7000

X Bot Services:

  • Channel Registration: Register and protect your channels
  • User Registration: Register nicknames and protect your identity
  • Access Control: Manage channel operators and user permissions
  • Bot Commands: Automated channel and user management

ZNC Bouncer Service:

  • Free ZNC Accounts: 24/7 connection to IRC network
  • Message Logging: Store and replay chat messages when you reconnect
  • Multi-Network Support: Connect to multiple IRC networks simultaneously
  • Web Interface: Manage your bouncer through web interface

Additional Services:

  • Trivia Game: Romanian trivia game with leaderboards and statistics
  • Web Chat: Browser-based IRC client (coming soon)
  • Server Linking: Routing committee for new server applications
  • Technical Support: Help and assistance for network users

3. User Conduct

Users must comply with the following rules when using NetIRC services:

General Behavior:

  • No harassment, abuse, or threatening behavior towards other users
  • No spam, flooding, or excessive messaging in channels
  • No sharing of illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content
  • No impersonation of other users, staff, or network services
  • Respect channel rules, operators, and network moderators

IRC Network Usage:

  • Use appropriate nicknames (no offensive, misleading, or reserved names)
  • Do not abuse network resources or cause excessive server load
  • Follow IRC protocol standards and server limitations
  • Do not attempt to exploit network vulnerabilities or security flaws

Bot and Automation:

  • Automated bots require permission from network staff
  • Bots must identify themselves clearly and follow bot guidelines
  • No automated scripts that abuse network resources
  • Respect rate limits and avoid excessive command usage

ZNC Bouncer Service:

  • Use ZNC service responsibly and within allocated limits
  • Do not abuse message logging or storage features
  • Maintain security of your ZNC account credentials
  • Report any issues or abuse of ZNC services to staff

4. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on NetIRC:

Security Violations:

  • Attempting to compromise network security or server integrity
  • Distributing malware, viruses, or malicious software
  • Exploiting network vulnerabilities or security flaws
  • Unauthorized access to network systems or user accounts
  • DDoS attacks or network flooding

Content Violations:

  • Sharing illegal content, including copyrighted material without permission
  • Distributing child exploitation material or illegal pornography
  • Promoting violence, terrorism, or hate speech
  • Sharing personal information of others without consent
  • Spreading false information or engaging in fraud

Network Abuse:

  • Creating multiple accounts to evade bans or restrictions
  • Abusing ZNC bouncer resources or exceeding usage limits
  • Manipulating trivia game scores or leaderboards
  • Interfering with network operations or other users' experience
  • Using automated tools without permission or in violation of guidelines

Commercial Abuse:

  • Using network services for commercial purposes without permission
  • Spamming channels with advertisements or promotional content
  • Operating commercial bots or services without authorization
  • Reselling or redistributing network access

5. Enforcement and Penalties

Violations of these terms may result in:

  • Warning messages
  • Temporary channel or network bans
  • Permanent account termination
  • IP address blocking
  • Legal action for serious violations

6. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  • We collect only necessary data to provide our services
